Nowhere

I sit here in the dark,
A beer in hand, and a stupid grin;
Divulging life's little secrets,
Deciding what is piety and what is sin.

I sit here in the light,
A coffee cup in hand, and a morning frown;
Thinking as little as possible,
Deciding which tie, the black or the brown.

I sit here in the gray,
A walking stick in hand, and confused stare;
This is where I am most of the time,
Between the dark and the light, really nowhere.
